USMC Takes Delivery & Trains on Zero MMX Electric Off-road Motorcycles

MacGyver Solutions, Inc recently delivered over a dozen Zero MMX Electric motorcycles to the United States Marine Corps and conducted riders and maintenance training.

Students were introduced to the particulars of the electric motorcycles and briefed on the advantages of not having a clutch or kick-starter to worry about while operating in off-road terrain.

The two 3.6kw batteries in the Zero allow for the operator to travel on one battery for lighter vehicle, two batteries for longer range and ‘hot-swap’ batteries with a support vehicle for sustained operations. During the training, depleted batteries were recharged in the field using the units LAVs while solar charging is in development.
